Alma Square – April 2026 Project Update
Construction has continued to progress well throughout April, with activity now clearly visible above ground level.

The ground floor suspended slab has progressed significantly, with large sections now poured. Remaining areas are being prepared, with formwork, propping and reo installation ongoing across multiple zones.
Vertical structural elements continue to progress, with a substantial number of columns now extending through the ground floor level.

Façade elements have also commenced, with the introduction of a precast panel system incorporating brick and tile finishes. Rather than traditional bricklaying, bricks and tiles are cut into thin sections and cast into precast concrete panels off site, before being lifted into position. This approach was adopted in response to rising bricklaying costs and labour shortages, as traditional bricklaying would have sat on the critical path and the risk of not securing sufficient bricklayers was considered too high.

At basement level, works are nearing completion, with only three more slab pours remaining.

No days were lost to inclement weather during April, and the builder remains on program.
Looking ahead to May, works will focus on completing the remaining basement slab pours, with the basement slab expected to be fully completed during the month. Attention will then shift to completing the remaining ground floor slab sections. With sufficient columns now in place, formwork for the first floor slab will commence, bringing the builder closer to achieving their aim of having three floors under construction simultaneously.
