Alma Square – May 2026 Update

Construction has continued to progress well throughout May, with the building now clearly rising above the solid boundary fencing and the overall scale of the development becoming more apparent.

The basement slab has now been fully completed, along with the vehicle ramp connecting the basement to the ground floor (the aerial photo was taken before this pour took place). Ground floor suspended slab works have also advanced substantially, with approximately 85% of the slab now poured.

During the month, significant progress was also made on the first floor suspended slab, with formwork commencing on the northwestern corner of the site.  As the first floor slab is progressively poured and completed, the temporary props supporting the ground floor can begin to be removed, allowing basement services installation to commence.

Façade installation has continued along the street frontages, with additional precast panels now erected. The integrated brick and tile finishes are also becoming more visible as these panels are installed, giving an early indication of the architectural character of the completed building.

Core walls and vertical structural elements have continued to progress throughout the site, in preparation for supporting the next stage of suspended slab construction.

Importantly, the builder remains on program, with no significant delays experienced during the month. We were also fortunate to experience a particularly dry May. As the project now moves into the winter months, inclement weather presents a genuine risk to the program, particularly during suspended slab preparation and concrete pours.

Looking ahead to June, works will focus on completing the remaining ground floor slab sections and progressing the first floor suspended slab across a larger portion of the site. The progressive removal of props will also commence, allowing basement services installation to begin.
