Spring Tips for Tenants
Fresh Air & Ventilation
- Open windows regularly to allow fresh air to circulate.
- Use bathroom exhaust fans while showering and for a little while afterwards.
- Use kitchen exhaust fans when cooking.
- Avoid leaving wet towels and clothing sitting around for extended periods.
- Keep an eye out for condensation around windows and damp areas.
- Keep an eye out for mould, especially around windows, behind furniture, on walls or on the ceiling.
Good ventilation is particularly important for helping reduce the risk of mould. WA Consumer Protection recommends tenants use fans and windows to help prevent mould and notify the landlord or property manager if there are maintenance issues contributing to moisture.

Clean easily accessible filters and vents and make sure the system is working properly before the warmer weather arrives.
Report Maintenance Early
