Elysian: June’s Project Update

In my April update I noted that there was immense pressure on securing finishing trades (eg tilers, floor layers, plasterers, etc) which was leading to delays and as such the move in date for buyers was likely to be pushed back to around the end of October.  Unfortunately those pressures have not abated and the builder has continued to struggle to get the required number of finishing trades they require.  Consequently, we are now anticipating that buyers should be able to move in November.  We will continue to monitor the builder’s progress closely and we can assure you we are doing everything in our power to assist the builder to keep the construction program on track.


The following occurred onsite during the month of June:

  • Ground – Construction of the Rokeby Rd lobby has commenced.  Installation of the windows in the commercial tenancies has also commenced.

  • Level 1 – The installation of the electrical appliances was completed. The electricians completed fitting off the lights, switches and power points. The plumber is now fitting off the tapware and toilets. Laying the timber floors will commence shortly.

  • Level 2 – All remaining cabinets and benchtops (except the kitchen island benchtop as that will be installed after the timber floors are laid) were installed. The electricians have completed the majority of their final fit off. Installation of the electrical appliances in the kitchens was completed.  Laying of the timber floors has commenced with half of the apartments already completed.

  • Level 3 – The cabinetry for all areas has been installed, with benchtops to be installed in the coming weeks.
  • Level 4 – All of the cabinetry has been delivered and installation has commenced. Tiling of the wet areas is continuing. Installation of the balustrades has commenced.

  • Level 5 – All balustrades and screening have been installed. The balcony ceilings have been hung. All of the walls have been flushed. Sheeting the ceilings has commenced and so has screeding of the wet areas. The residents’ communal area continues to take shape.

  • Externally – The external rendering and painting of the building continues.
