October has seen solid progress at Alma Square, with construction advancing on the upper floors while work continues to expand across the lower levels of the building.
The Level 4 slab is now fully completed, while approximately two thirds of the Level 5 slab has been poured. Formwork has also commenced on Level 6.

The installation of the precast brick façade panels has continued around the perimeter of the building, with the brick columns now extending to the upper levels of the building.

At ground level, a substantial amount of the temporary propping has now been removed, opening up large areas of the floor and allowing blockwork construction to continue. These walls will separate the commercial tenancies and their associated storerooms, with the individual spaces now beginning to take shape.

Another important milestone has been the complete removal of propping from the north eastern corner of Level 1. This has cleared the way for the setting out and framing of the internal apartment walls to commence in this area. It marks an important step in the transition from structural construction to the internal fitout of the apartments.

Meanwhile, hydraulic, fire, electrical and mechanical services installations have continued through the basement, ground floor and Level 1, with work progressing as additional areas become available.
Three days were lost to inclement weather during October, with rain and strong winds disrupting construction activities. The strong winds prevented the tower cranes from operating safely. Despite these interruptions, the builder remains on program.
During November, the focus will be on completing the remaining Level 5 slab and progressing construction of the Level 6 slab.
Within the building, the removal of temporary propping will continue to open up additional areas for internal construction, allowing work on the commercial tenancies and apartments to progress.
