In 2010 Celsius Developments purchased this 2000sqm site zoned R80 situated at 696 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park.

Celsius Developments felt the site was underutilised on such a vibrant strip close to the intersection of Albany Highway and Miller Street.  This is a key intersection on Albany Highway with direct access to Curtin University and the City in either direction.

The site was previously a second hand car yard and its redevelopment was welcomed by the local council who were very keen to see a gentrification of the Albany Highway strip.

Development Approval was granted in 2011, at the time the Development team had begun working with Klopper and Davis Architects (KDA) lead by Sam Klopper and Matthew Davis, and felt the design intent they had shown in other projects would be well suited to this site and location.

The eventual design consisted of 24 residential apartments sitting above 500 square metres of mixed commercial units including the head office of Celsius Property Group.  One and two bedroom apartment options with a range of designs all offering large kitchens and open plan living areas, large balconies and terraces were also a feature of the design.

These features were well received by the market with all apartments being pre-sold prior to construction completion in January 2014 with the build taking 18 months to complete.

In keeping with the Town of Victoria Park’s aim of promoting public art to enhance the character and identity of the town, Celsius commissioned Margaret River sculpture artist Ian Dowling to design a piece of art that would be central to the Park Square development.

Ian sculpted “Metameres” which is a thought provoking piece that runs not only inside the building but also outside through the facade making it one of the Town’s more unique pieces.
