Alma Square – June 2026 Project Update

Construction continued to progress strongly throughout June, with the ground floor suspended slab now completed. The first floor suspended slab is now approximately 70% complete, with the majority of the remaining areas already formed and awaiting concrete pours. Formwork for the second floor suspended slab has also commenced in the north western corner of the site.

Core walls and vertical structural elements have continued to progress throughout the site, with several major wall pours completed during the month.

One of the most noticeable changes this month has been the continued installation of the building’s precast façade panels incorporating the architectural brick inserts. The feature brick columns are now clearly visible above the site hoarding and, together with the remaining precast façade elements, are beginning to showcase the architectural character of the completed development.

The overall scale of the building is also becoming increasingly apparent. With the first floor suspended slab nearing completion, the project is clearly visible from the surrounding streets and is beginning to establish a strong presence within the local streetscape.

As expected, the arrival of winter resulted in several days being lost to inclement weather. Fortunately, the builder had established a small buffer by getting ahead of program during May. This buffer has now largely been absorbed by the wet weather, leaving the project back on its programmed construction schedule.

Looking ahead to July, works will focus on completing the remaining sections of the first floor suspended slab, progressing the core walls and vertical structural elements, and continuing construction of the second floor suspended slab.
