Hive Apartments Development Update – February 2016
Since our last update we have seen the rear half of the building nearing completion with only the laying of the flooring, installation of the kitchen appliances and hanging of the pendant lighting to be completed.Installation of these items will commence tomorrow and should be completed within 2 weeks. The apartments will then be cleaned, which will then allow the builder to undertake their final inspection where they will identify and fix any items that need to be touched up.
The front half of the building is approximately a week behind the rear half with the main outstanding items being painting of the walls, fitting off of the downlights, installing shower screens and mirrors into the bathrooms, laying the flooring and installing the kitchen appliances.
Externally the last of the painting will be completed shortly. The carpark preparation commenced today and the landscaping will also start soon.
In my last update I stated that the builder was confident they would be able to achieve practical completion around late February, however, it now appears this date will be pushed back a month with the builder now anticipating practical completion around the end of March. Typically we would expect settlements to occur 6 to 8 weeks after practical completion but we are doing everything we can to speed this process up in order to account for the fact that the builder was not able to achieve their planned late February completion.
